If you want to leave your board at home and book one of our SUNOVA SUPs for sole use you can do so for $400AUD.

Included in the fee is one minor deck repair. There will not be a refund if you don’t damage the board but it gives you some peace of mind that we’re fair and reasonable when you book one of our boards.

Bring your own paddle, leggie and fins.

We do not include paddles, fins or leg ropes with hire boards but we do have spares on board if you lose or break yours.

This service is for people who don’t want to or can’t travel with their own SUP board, we do not offer boards for sole use if you are bringing your own. We generally have some spares on the boat if you break your board beyond ridable or if there is a board available that you would like to demo and would be expected you demo it once or twice to try, any more than that and you will need to pay the hire rate. Repair terms apply.

Our SUPs are on a first come first serve basis and subject to availability. If you chose to book a Moon Tours SUP it is your responsibility to inspect the board prior to use and note any pre-existing damage to your guides and Moon Tours hosts. You are responsible for the equipment loaned to you for the duration of the trip as if it were your own, you will be required to cover any repair costs.

If you decide to let others use the board that is up to you, you are solely responsible for the board regardless of who uses or damages it, as it would be if you brought your own board along. It will be your responsibility to seek compensation from third parties if you loan the board to others.

Minimum $100AUD for minor dings and damage that can be repaired on the boat without major work.

Rails / Nose / Tail or major repairs minimum $200AUD Most of the time we can temporarily repair a board on the boat to keep you going but that doesn’t mean it is not a major repair. The board may have to be repaired on land or carried back to Australia or Thailand for repairs in some circumstances.

Snapped / creased written off boards will be charged at fair second hand market value .

WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF WHEN YOU DESIGNED IT?

Luckily I didn’t have to think about anything when I designed this board Rick Weeks (AKA Sup the Creek) gave me an exact idea of what he wanted, by taking his favorite aspects from a bunch of his favorite Sunova’s, here is what Rick was thinking.

“Simply put, I wanted a board with the stability of the Skate with the performance of the Acid. Add to that, the magic of the Speeed tail and you have a full on ripper that is stable enough for adverse conditions or larger riders”. The nose is wider than most high performance boards to give added lift and stability when paddling hard into a wave, and comfort when waiting for a set.

The rail line has enough curve to allow mid board turns and fast down the line pumping. What really makes this board special is combining a curvy rail line with the Speeed tail and high performance rocker. The distinct “bend” in the rail line at the side bites, coupled with deep channels and tail rocker, give this board a spectacular ability to snap a tight, carving turn, and do it without scrubbing off speed.

The result is a high performance board that is easy to use and works from 1’ to well overhead.

WHAT IT POSSIBLY COMPROMISES ON THEN?

The performance rocker needs a bit of juice to really shine. While it does ok in flatter waves, a rider may prefer to ride the Skate or Shroom to maximize mushy conditions.
